Madison Co Pirates Mission Statement

The Madison County Pirates strive to achieve a place for members to participate in the sport of football where they can achieve their personal goals in a positive, competitive, team atmosphere. The Madison County Pirates will support their local community by utilizing and promoting the park system facilities, a with a specific focus on supporting the Pendleton Junior Football League's participants through shared resources, annual skills training, and mentoring youth through the game of football.

Goals

The Madison County Pirates are dedicated to assisting the community. We do not pay our players, coaches, or board members and any profit at the end of the season is directed to our mission. We have three missions...

1) We support and mentor the kids of the Pendleton Junior Football League. In fact, more and more we find ourselves becoming a brother / sister organization. The Pirates help out with PJFL camps and clinics though teaching of the fundamentals of football. We are working to improving the football fields, the same ones PJFL have played on for many years.  We strive to provide a role model thought our actions on the field showing the kids how football can last longer then just high school or college. Yet, in return, PJFL allows us to use their field equipment, helps provide support at our events, and has been our strongest supporter since day one.

2) To support the community through different avenues. We rent the park to practice and a percentage of each game ticket goes to Falls Creek Park. This money in return is invested back into the park for the entire community. The Pirates also conduct their business in Pendleton spending  community money within the community.

3) To have fun. Unlike most amateur adult sports like basketball, softball, or flag football that are easily found in most communities, organized contact football is rare. Many of us though that our senior year of high school would be the last time we would ever get the chance to play. The Pirates are a chance to play the game we love.

Outreach - Pendleton Junior Football League

Pendleton Junior Football LeagueWelcome to Pendleton Junior Football League, Inc (PJFL).  We have been serving the local community since 1973.  We are an instructional league that promotes safety,  sportsmanship, skills development and teamwork.

PJFL has three football divisions. The Flag Division is for 1st and 2nd grader flag football players. Our Tackle Divisions are 3rd and 4th grade division and 5th and 6th grade division. The grade level will be determined by the grade the player will be going into for the 2008/2009 school year. We do have a maximum age limit for each division: Flag not 9 by end of 2008; 3rd and 4th grade not 11 by end of 2008 and 5th and 6th grade not 13 by end of 2008.

Each year the Madison Co Pirates host a two day skills camp for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. This camp teaches each player the proper basic skills for all positions on the team. This camp is also the first time the youth get to practice with their pads and it is a great opportunity to watch them be so  ecstatic about the game of football.

The Pirates also sponsor the PJFL's website covering the cost design and hosting.
